S.T.A.R. Puppy Class
S.T.A.R. Puppy is a new program from the AKC for puppies 2 to 6 months old and is designed to get them off to a good start and on track to becoming a Canine Good Citizen. It’s a fact that what your puppy learns during their first months is going to play a major role in what kind of adult dog you will have. This hands-on course covers all the basics, including socialization, basic obedience, and the keys to communicating with your new best friend! Class concludes with the S.T.A.R. Puppy Test, which tests your puppy’s new skills and readies you for more advanced obedience training.

To get started, give our training coordinators a call at (845) 562-7861. Each class session begins with an Orientation & Meet the Trainers session. At orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet our trainer, Suzanne, and learn more about our upcoming classes.
Before coming to class, please do the following:
- Enter vaccinations and credit card information in Gingr
- Bring any questions you may have! There will be plenty of time to ask and learn all about Suzanne’s training methods.
- For the initial session, the dogs stay home, but all members of your family are welcome to attend.
Puppy training comes with complimentary puppy daycare* every Monday and Wednesday while class is in session, so your puppy gets time to socialize and make puppy friends. Call for more information about our complimentary Puppy Daycare while classes are in session! For puppies aged 8 weeks – 6 months old.
